There are a number of drawbacks to flat panel displays. First, they are expensive. The LCD is the only type of flat panel display that is mass produced. So, the price is relatively high. Second, the resolution of these displays is limited. The best LCDs have a resolution of 1,280 x 800. And, there are no plans to improve the resolution of the LCD. Third, the LCD has a short life. The disadvantages of the LCD are the fact that it is not as energy-efficient as the other types of displays. It takes up more space than the other types of displays and it is a little more expensive than the other types of displays.
