All four iPhone 13 models share the A15 Bionic chip, Face ID, a Ceramic Shield OLED screen, 5G, MagSafe and a Lightning port. The 13 mini (5.4-inch) and 13 (6.1-inch) have two rear cameras and a 60Hz screen. The 13 Pro (6.1-inch) and 13 Pro Max (6.7-inch) add a 120Hz ProMotion screen, a 3x telephoto camera, LiDAR and a stainless steel frame. Every model has the A15 Bionic chip (the Pro models get one extra GPU core), Face ID, a Ceramic Shield front, IP68 water resistance, 5G, MagSafe and a Lightning charging port. Apple released the lineup in September 2021.
Which iPhone 13 is which?
- Two cameras on the back means an iPhone 13 or 13 mini. The mini is the small one.
- Three cameras and a small black dot (LiDAR) means a 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max. The Pro Max is the large one.
- To be sure, open Settings > General > About and check the model name.
What the differences mean for screen repair
Each iPhone 13 model uses a different screen, so a screen from one model will not fit another. The Pro and Pro Max screens support ProMotion, which makes them more expensive parts than the 13 and 13 mini screens.
Since the iPhone 11, iOS shows a notice in Settings when a screen is not a genuine Apple part. We use Apple OEM or premium screens and tell you which option you are getting before any work begins. Premium iPhone screens carry a 1-year warranty.*

Battery life and battery replacement
The 13 Pro Max has the biggest battery in the lineup and the 13 mini the smallest. After a few years every battery wears down. Check Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging. If maximum capacity is low or the phone shuts down on its own, a battery replacement usually brings back a full day of use.
Other common iPhone 13 repairs
- Back glass: all four models have a glass back that can crack in a drop.
- Charging port: lint in the Lightning port is a common cause of slow or no charging. Do not dig in it with metal.
- Camera: a cracked camera lens or a camera that shows a black screen.
- Water damage: IP68 water resistance wears over time and does not cover liquid damage. If your phone gets wet, read what to do right away.
Is an iPhone 13 still worth repairing?
